We so appreciate your support!

Then, this Friday, September 21, Kimerer and Kyra will be back in NYC to perform as part of the Planet Connections Award Ceremony, at the Abrons Center for the Arts! Happy If Happy When has been nominated for two awards: Supporting Actress (Kyra) and Music/Lyrics (Kimerer & Geoffrey). Wish us luck!!

Kai is Joe

Our Happy If Happy When actor of the day is Kai! Kai does not miss a beat. Literally. This drummer, singer, actor, farmer has a powerful stage presence, playing twelve-year old Joe, the fourth child in the family. Joe is enthusiastic about pretty much everything. In our segment for our two Wednesday performances at The Acorn Kai will be singing part of the smile-inducing duet he performs with his younger brother called “Copy Cat.” Move over Zach E…..

Kyra Plays the Part of Eliza

Our player of the day is Kyra!

In Happy If Happy When, Kyra plays the 14-year-old Eliza, the most fictional of our characters. Eliza does not want to move to a farm, and is not happy when she does. Yet her unhappiness is a catalyst that draws the whole family together. One of the songs she sings is a killer duet with Sarah whose refrain is: “The higher you fly, the richer am I.” It is a philosophy we practice daily here on the farm.

Kyra was recently nominated for a Planet Connections Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Musical Award! Congratulations, Kyra!

Come see her in action — September 5 and 12th @ 7 PM @ The Acorn in NYC.

Jessica is Sarah

Jessica, a naturally gifted actor who is beginning her second year in veterinary school, takes on the role of Sarah in our production coming up, September 5 and 12th!

Sarah is a 16-year old who knows what she wants and is out to get it! One of her songs is a hilarious duet with Hank: “Everything I Need to Know is in a Book” where he promptly responds, “Nothing that I need to know is in a book…” A favorite among my academic friends!

Join us at THE ACORN in NYC!

Jordan will play Hank

In less than a week, all seven of us will be on stage at the Off-Broadway theatre, THE ACORN! As we count down the days, I am going to feature one member of our cast each day. Today: Jordan!

Jordan plays the character “Hank,” a seventeen-year old young man who is eager to be out on his own, living on the land, making things with his own hands. He sings a solo called “Ghost in the Barn.” One line goes: “I want a life that is honest — made by my hands, something real. To give back to the earth for all it gives me, can you understand the appeal?”

Meanwhile, on the farm, Jordan has been collecting firewood, with the help of his team of oxen, Bright and Blaze. Here they are, up in our fields (with Leif alongside!), pulling the logging sled that Jordan made for them.

Come here this bladesmith/farmer/actor sing! September 5 and September 12 at 7 PM! (Links for tickets in sidebar.)
